4 MONSOON HOME DECOR TIPS TO FOLLOW
Monsoon is knocking on our doors and its time
we take some time off to prep our home for the rains. Seasons change and it’s
good to keep our home updated to tackle the weather outside. When its monsoon, we
need to do some quick changes to keep our home looking good and feeling fresh
even when it’s rainy outside. We love the rain of course, but monsoon days come
with its own share of gloomy and grey outdoors. You definitely do not want that
mood to creep into your interiors.
Here are 4 monsoon decor tips to help your home
embrace the season with cheer:
Colour palette
Keep your home away from whites and beiges
during the monsoon season. It’s best to see some colours within your home to
light up the interiors. Think colourful prints and patterns in bright shades on
pillows and bedcovers.
Windows
Windows
Monsoon tends to bring in some rain within, so
we mostly keep our windows closed. But when it’s not raining, keep your windows
open to let in fresh air. Also, treat your windows the right way and keep it
monsoon ready. Bring down heavy drapes and put up curtains made of breathable
fabric like cotton or sheer material to keep the room dry and airy.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy
With wet shoes and umbrellas coming in
regularly, a good aromatherapy is what your home deserves during the monsoons.
Treat your home with fresh aromas to keep your home smelling pleasant every
day. From air fresheners to homemade potpourris and dry leaf herbal smudges,
there are many ways to keep home purified and smelling great. And the good old
way of getting some fresh flowers is always there.
The messiest place at home during the rainy
season is the doorway. I’m sure most of you will agree because we experience
this every year. Kids and grownups alike walk in with boots and umbrellas
dripping with water all through the day. And what we get in the end is a muddy
and damp doorway. Avoid this situation by keeping a rug at the entrance to
clean the feet before getting in. Also, keep the shoes outside the doors on
door mats to avoid the doorway from getting damp. And of course, for the wet
umbrellas place a good-looking umbrella stand and you’re set for the season!
